At Gala Rose Farms we are now into our sixth generation. As producers, we, as those who came before us, strive to produce the highest quality product possible. When it comes to our Black Angus herd, we want to provide our customers with animals that will add value and quality to their operation.
When we first joined the Registered Black Angus community over a decade ago, we sought to select cows whose genetic background would supply us with an adequate foundation to build our herd around. With this goal in mind, we chose our foundation females from cows who have advanced the genetic quality of the angus breed and who rank among the top income-producing females in the breed’s history and sires that have made equally significant contributions.
With our foundation established, we began building our herd from the genetics we had selected; No additional animals were added to our herd and our herd has been closed since. Our mission has been to select and create animals that are suited for a long life in a forage based operation. In order to achieve this, we have focused on maternal longevity, carcass value and docility, qualities we believe are essential to a successful seed stock herd or commercial operation.
At Gala Rose Farms, any animal that has not flourished in our own forage based operation has been removed from our herd, leaving us with a herd of cattle that we believe is a great representation of top quality Black Angus pasture-to-plate genetics.
Though we have enjoyed our involvement in the Registered Black Angus community, we have chosen to disperse our herd this fall. We believe that any and all of our animals would be a great addition to a seed stock or commercial operation with similar goals in mind.
For further information about our upcoming dispersal sale, visit our sale page, look for us in the October issue of the Angus Journal, or feel free to utilize our contact information to speak with us directly. Also, we welcome any and all visitors to the farm prior to sale day to view our herd.
Thank you for visiting our site. We look forward to seeing you in Lyons, NY on Sunday, November 3rd, 2013!
Sincerely,
Sherman & Donna Jones
